Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site earn us a commission. Here's exactly which ones, and what that does and doesn't change.
The short version
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
That's the required disclosure for our Amazon links. It applies alongside a similar arrangement with some sellers whose products we cover directly: on those entries, we link to the seller's own storefront through an affiliate link, and we may earn a commission if you buy through it. Either way, it costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same whether you click our link or navigate to the same product on your own.
How to tell which links these are
Every outbound purchase link on this site — to Amazon or to a seller's storefront — carries a rel="sponsored" attribute in its underlying code, which is the standard way a page marks a link as a paid or affiliate link to search engines. We also place a short reminder near the link on the entry itself (an Amazon Associates note, or "We may earn a commission if you buy through this link" for direct-seller links).
What this doesn't change
A commission arrangement does not change what an entry says about a product, what evidence we cite, what price or refund terms we report, or what trend badge (Rising, Steady, or Falling) an entry carries. We write the same way about entries that pay us a commission and entries that don't. The reverse is also true: whether or not a particular link happens to be an affiliate link is not itself a signal about the product's quality — plenty of legitimate products are simply not part of an affiliate program we could join, and that absence doesn't mean anything either way.
Two kinds of link on this site
- Amazon links. Where a product is sold on Amazon, our link goes to that Amazon listing through the Amazon Associates program. If you buy that product, or sometimes other items during that same shopping session, we may earn a commission from Amazon.
- Direct-seller links. Where a product is sold through the manufacturer's or seller's own storefront rather than Amazon, our link goes to that seller's official site through a direct affiliate arrangement, and we may earn a commission if you buy through it.
